Most people have heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Not only does it provide you with the energy you need to get up and go and be as productive as possible but there is proof that those who eat breakfast are less likely to gain weight. If you eat breakfast you won’t be tempted to snack on unhealthy foods and it puts you in a better frame of mind.

Eating breakfast is good but it’s even better if it’s a healthy breakfast. Avoid very sugary cereals or fatty fry-ups. Try having some slices of wholemeal toast, healthy wholegrain cereals or a bowl of porridge and throw in a handful of fruit for good measure too. There is some truth in that old adage: Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dine like a pauper.
